Exam results: Our junior doctors blitz national average

21/08/2015

Alfred Health physician trainees have achieved a 96 per cent pass rate in the recent July/August clinical exams.

This result compares with a 74 per cent national and 83.3 per cent Victoria state pass rate.

The Alfred's physician training program is a large team effort and the result reflects not only the high quality and dedication of our junior doctors, but also the commitment of senior staff and advanced physician trainees who gave generously of their time and support.

As the clinical exam is patient based, our generous and selfless patients who have contributed to short, long cases and trial exams share in this outstanding achievement.

The program is coordinated and supervised by Assoc Professors Anne Powell and Laila Rotstein as well as the senior general medicine registrar Rachel Aitken with Karen Greenwood supporting the administration.

In addition to the impressive result, two of the physician trainees top scored in Australia at the written exam in February 2015.
A big congratulations to everyone involved.
