A team of 40 cyclists is appealing for donations to help support their epic 24-hour bike ride in aid of Sandringham Hospital.
Bayside businessman, Nathan Goss decided signed up for the ride because he wanted to give back to the hospital that previously provided care to both of his children.
“Everyone deserves the greatest level of care possible when they go to hospital. It’s great knowing 100 per cent of donations from this ride will go towards helping the hospital continue to achieve this,” said Nathan.
The team, which includes Sandringham Hospital’s director of emergency medicine, Dr Adam Bystrzycki and Alfred Health chief operating officer, Andrew Stripp will commence the ride at midday on 29 August in Black Rock.
They will continue riding to and from the Mornington Peninsula until midday on 30 August.
During the mammoth ride, the group will cycle the length of 45,000 buses, climb the height of 600 giraffes and burn around 13,600 calories – the equivalent of 153 bananas.
