American TV host Savannah Guthrie reunited with midwives at Sandringham Hospital
TV host of The Today Show USA, Savannah Gutherie paid an emotional visit to her birthplace Sandringham Hospital, on her first return back to Melbourne since leaving at age two.
Together with mum Nancy, the pair toured Sandringham Hospital as part of a special Mother’s Day live broadcast from Australia.
More than five million viewers tuned in to see Savannah and Nancy welcomed back to Sandringham and reunited with the midwives who delivered her 43 years ago.
Naomi McGilton, Pat Marshall and Gwen House all worked at Sandringham maternity when Savannah was born.
“My mum has always spoken so highly of the care she was given by the nurses when I was born, so this is a lovely surprise to meet some of them,” Savannah said.
