Stand up paddle boarders have once again joined forces with SUP Vic and The Sandringham Yacht Club to raise much needed funds for Sandringham Hospital.
The Mad Paddle (16 March 2014) will see paddlers set out on a gruelling crossing, from Portarlington to the Sandringham Yacht Club. Two years ago, over 50 paddlers set out from Mornington to Sandringham Yacht Club (a total of 35 kms) in support of Sandringham Hospital, they will once again push their bodies to the limit.
Mad Paddle committee members Kathy Naoumidis, Dave Hunt, Bill Stubbs, Bruce Thompson, Jonathon Cowcher and Felicity Frederico are hoping to raise $30,000 for the purchase of monitoring equipment for newborn babies at Sandringham Hospital and a defibrillator for SUPVic.
The event organisers are fortunate enough to have the support of high profile local Bayside residents such as Aussie basketball ace, Mark Bradtke and Sally Cockburn (Dr Feelgood and Healthy Parks, Healthy People Ambassador). All are hoping the event will exceed the 2012 fundraising target.
The event will culminate with a community family barbeque at the Sandringham Yacht Club, which is an opportunity to further support the cause through both live and silent auctions.

All are encouraged to come down at midday for the community family barbeque to support Sandringham Hospital, we look forward to seeing you there!
